Environmental law is of special importance to countries in the South Pacific region. As Small Island States it is often difficult for them to be heard on the international stage. Environmental issues from global warming, depletion of fishing stocks, protection of reefs, environmental pollution and biodiversity issues are all matters that are of particular concern to those in the South Pacific region. read more

Master of Laws (LLM)

The Master of Laws (LLM) is a specialist postgraduate degree designed to explore Pacific legal thought and practice. It thus reflects USPís geographical location. It aims to provide students with the skills to participate actively in the development of Pacific jurisprudence, and to enhance global understanding of Pacific legal systems. read more

The Professional Diploma in Legislative Drafting (2009)

The Professional Diploma in Legislative Drafting (PDLD) is the premier qualification in legislative drafting in the South Pacific region. read more

The Professional Diploma in Legal Practice

The Professional Diploma in Legal Practice (PDLP) is an intensive 22 week program designed to prepare students for entry into legal practice in one or more of the jurisdictions of the region served by the University. The program was first offered in 1998 on an annual basis at the Laucala Campus, Suva, Fiji. It has now grown to the point where it has two intakes per year, in January and July, with students being allocated to each intake by ballot, if necessary. read more
